Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direction of supervisor or leader, performs production area laboring jobs and keeps plant areas in a clean and orderly condition as directed.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Cleans up production area and work area at shift end.
  • Weigh and labels bins.
  • Maintains fuel, oil and water supply in forklift.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly using common cleaning equipment.
  • Completes records as necessary, including daily checklist prior to operating forklift.
  • May operate forklift on a limited basis.
  • Must be familiar with safe machine operations where machinery must be cleaned while running; familiar with lock out locations and all SSOP’s for the machinery they are cleaning.
  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds and maneuver a fuel tank weighing 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to work regularly scheduled overtime.
  • Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions, safe work practices, and making sure GMP’S are followed in assigned area, including written procedures for safe handling and use of chemical compounds.
  • Fills, stacks, moves or handles materials weighing up to 55 pounds frequently or continuously. Properly marks product or materials as directed.
  • Removes excess material or refuse as directed
  • Picks up self-dumping hoppers, bins (full or empty), pallets of case goods, packaging supplies, fruit, chemicals, etc., and transports them to their proper storage area.
  • Operates cleaning equipment such as, Sellers Hose, HPLV, Foamers, Tray Washer, and chemical spray equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Stacks and un-stacks pallets.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of nature and properties of sanitation chemicals.
  • Must pass limited forklift certification to drive forklift in Sanitation.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate.
