The Role


The Utilities Program Associate is responsible for managing and implementing utility reimbursement programs designed to address the effective delivery of resident services in conjunction with AVB business strategies.
  • Responsible for resolving resident billing issues through collaboration with third-party billing vendor, operations, and others as needed.
  • Provides support and customer service to the operations team around utility programs and providers.
  • Compiles and summarizes monthly utility reimbursement reports for supervisor review prior to sending bills to residents.
  • Arranges and manages meter and submeter set-up and replacements for all communities and monitors sub-meter performance across the portfolio to ensure accurate readings for utility reimbursement programs. Also, has ownership over meter shut offs and transfers related to disposition and acquisition communities.
  • Coordinates all the operational and financial aspects of assigned utility billing and reimbursement program(s) to meet AvalonBay’s overall business goals.


You Have...


Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field required OR equivalent 0-3 years of multi-family property management or utility management experience.

Experience:
  • 0-3 years of experience in a multi-family or utility management role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • The ability to create and deliver group presentations on function-related subject matters, organize information, maintain records, and create reports.
  • The ability to manage and prioritize tasks, develop timelines, and coordinate with various stakeholders.
  • The ability to organize information, maintain records, and create reports.
  • The ability to self-motivate and independently work and self-manage in assigned areas.
  • Retrieves and analyzes data from company data sources as demonstrated by previous experience in analyzing operations and financial data.
