Job Description

Sirnaomics, Inc. is a leading clinical stage biopharmaceutical company in the discovery and development of RNAi therapeutics for treatment of cancer and fibrotic diseases. We are seeking candidates to fill the newly created position of Operations Specialist, located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.


The well-qualified candidate will provide general support for business operations in logistics/shipping, purchasing, and documentation control areas.

Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Support negotiating purchase and procurement contracts for goods and services in ways that benefit the company regarding price, availability, necessity, quality, and logistical expenses.
  • Goods and services purchasing for labs and office (source the goods supply, review and correct purchase orders, manage out of budget alerts/deal negotiations/vendor setup), and data entering in NetSuite as well as saving and managing related documents.
  • Support fixed assets/inventory monthly and annual review.
  • Vendor management including but not limited to setup, verification and payment support, managing online accounts for suppliers and the being the point of contact for goods areas.
  • Back up purchase and vendor setup, verification, and profile management.
  • Dealing with receiving goods, including deliveries, entering/saving packing slips and confirming receipt in NetSuite. Working with scientists and budget owners to deal with return issues and support storage, as well as saving and managing related documents.
  • Administrative support per request.
  • Support accounting three-way match by performing data entry into ERP/off-line databases regularly and ensuring department compliance with policies and procedures, as well as accessing various databases and inputting data with a high level of accuracy.
  • Back up shipping, logistics, and inventory.
  • Support patent document control.
  • Problem-solving for R&D team for purchase order submissions.


Education & Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent related experience (some college preferred).
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and written SOPs with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor including superior communication skills.
  • Responsibilities may require a work schedule that may include working outside of "normal" work hours, in order to meet business demands.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to think analytically.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation and business relations skills.
  • Two or more years of operational, procurement experience preferred.
  • Accounting acumen preferred.
  • Experience in purchasing or procurement required; knowledge of ERP purchasing software preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
