Position Summary
An Operations Specialist is responsible for electronic activity, ACH/Inclearing, and member data processing for Simplicity Credit Union. Provides exceptional service and always projects a positive and friendly image for the credit union through interactions with members and co-workers.
This is a full-time position that will work at our Stevens Point or Marshfield branch. This position will work M-F during business hours. Remote work is an option once training is complete.
- Timely processing, posting, balancing and compliance of all electronic activity, including bill pay, ACH/Inclearing, mobile check deposit, preauthorized (automatic transfers), wire transfers, and other Operations department tasks.
- Review overdrafts: make determination to hold or return.
- Process all requests via forms submitted to the Operations team regarding electronic activity, internal and external transfers, deposit account, or debit card related requests.
- Provide backup to Accounting department as needed.
- Maintain safe deposit box notices.
- Respond to internal member requests through various means of communication, phone, Teams, and email, while following and maintaining proper procedures.
- Mobile Check Deposit: responsible for reviewing mobile deposit checks and determining if they should be accepted or rejected, along with being alert to potential fraudulent items or suspicious activity. Submitting, processing, and balancing the Mobile Deposit file.
- Reinforce continuous collaboration and respectful communication between all departments by promoting strong, positive, and productive working relationships through the commitment to the company’s core values, vision and mission statements.
- Excellent decision-making skills.
- Must be friendly and able to represent the credit union in a professional and positive manner.
- High school education or GED and three to five years of similar experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a strong attention to detail, ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
- A high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations, even under pressure.
