Our team is searching for an Operations Manager to work at our Southeast, TX site. The site is a Joint Venture and operates one of the world’s largest naphtha steam crackers and C4 Olefins complexes. The steam cracker transforms crude oil and natural gas into chemical building blocks for many consumer and industrial goods. Our C4 Olefins Complex houses the world’s largest butadiene extraction facility and an indirect alkylation unit.
As an Operations Manager, you will provide technical direction and leadership for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing of petrochemical products. The position is also accountable to controlling the maintenance/purchases services. You will be an active member of the site management team and be responsible for best practice sharing across the site as well as global colleagues and counterparts within the company and our joint venture partner. This position provides disciplinary leadership to a team of Operations Engineers, Operations Coordinators and Area Training Specialists and indirect leadership to the broader technical team.
Your commitment to safety and continuous improvement will be a valued asset as you will be responsible for driving EHS and continuous improvement activities in your areas of influence. Striving for achievement, you will participate in establishing production goals, objectives, and operational budgets to assure continuous improvement. Your strong business acumen combined with your technical aptitude will be essential as you optimize fixed and variable manufacturing unit costs and provide technical support for cost effective operations. Providing operations coordination for asset optimization, you will interface with Maintenance, Asset Management, TAR, strategic team and other site teams. Leveraging your education in Engineering and work experience in a manufacturing environment, you will provide technical and administrative guidance to Operations, Maintenance, and the business in support of the production plan. As a leader and mentor, you will be responsible for the direction, development, succession planning/knowledge transfer, and performance management of the Production Team.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of strong "operations" experience in a PSM regulated chemical plant facility.
- Demonstrated skills in promoting EHS, performance driven processes, motivating a team of professionals, and managing budgets and KPIs.
- As a leader and mentor, you will be responsible for the direction, development, succession planning/knowledge transfer, and performance management of the Production Team.
- Demonstrated ability in providing operations coordination for asset optimization, interfacing with Maintenance, Asset Management, TARs, strategic teams, and other site teams.
- Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
