Seeking an outstanding experienced Operations Manager with the ability to work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The right candidate will demonstrate a high level of competence in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the extraction and manufacturing teams, creating and maintaining production and extraction schedules, KPIs, and whose scope includes Extraction, Formulation, Oil Dilution, Tinctures, Topicals, Capsules, Tablets, Powder, Edibles, and future new products or processes. This person must be extremely self-motivated, reliable, hard-working, very hands-on, mechanically inclined, technical savvy, able to help troubleshoot and diagnosis, and capable of leading the teams to meet their goals while ensuring schedule adherence and optimization of manufacturing and extraction operations.


Position Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing and extraction operations to achieve output and efficiency targets. Interface with Quality department on deviations, SOPs, and work instructions. Manage equipment PMs, repairs, efficiency upgrades and processes. Ensure products meet quality requirements and manufactured on-time. Leads and encourages a collaborative team environment dedicated to meeting departmental goals and objectives. Manager for a team of workers including conducting/providing input on performance reviews and pay changes, hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow cGMP and OSHA requirements and ensure employee compliance
  • Ensure teams are fully trained and technically competent to reliably and efficiently meet production requirements
  • Allocate labor capacity as required to meet business demands for maximum production and efficiency
  • Implement continuous improvement for increased productivity and cost reduction initiatives
  • Lead a daily extraction meeting reviewing schedules and inventory levels while also focusing on problem solving
  • Follow all required work safe practices set by regulatory standards
  • Work with Quality department to confirm production is compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Work with Production Scheduler to arrange the manufacturing schedules in response to material or equipment conflicts
  • Minimize labor costs and conduct evaluations and improvements of processes and procedures
  • Interface with Health and Safety Manager, Inventory, Facilities, and Quality to establish adequate material availability, along with clean, safe, and functional work spaces and equipment
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned
  • Monitor extraction and manufacturing teams and work with managers to improve teams performance and accountability
  • Ongoing review of documentation and processes in order to facilitate continual improvements


Job Requirements:

Education/ Experience:

  • BA/BS and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience working in an FDA regulated industry or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been attained
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and organizational skills, great attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, OSHA, ISO, food industry, and/or manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of managing teams in extraction and manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with alcohol extraction, supercritical Co2 extraction, falling film evaporators, decarb reactors, winterization, distillation, formulations, and manufacturing. Experience with manufacturing tinctures, edibles and topicals is a plus.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have mechanical aptitude, hands-on ability, strong desire to learn, and be a fast learner
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize a large and diverse task load
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Must be organized and be efficient with Microsoft Office, NAV, and other programs
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Sound judgement and good decision-making skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that fluctuates in response to production demands
  • Must have the ability to diagnosis and troubleshoot problems, modification, and new processes
  • Must exhibit attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Good planning, analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of the extraction and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to provide work direction across multiple production areas and shifts
  • Must be able to function within a team environment.
  • Ability to self-direct work to complete projects and other tasks within defined time frame


Compensation:

$105,000.00 - $112,500.00
