Job Description

:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties and functions to assist the laboratory Administrative Manager in the management and operation of Laboratory Services. Is responsible for compliance, quality management and risk management functions for the Laboratory. Performs the duties of the Administrative Manager in his/her absence. Performs administrative on-call duties as required.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing an interdependent, high performing leadership team. Identifies and nurtures leaders through interviews, mentoring, coaching, training, and skills competency testing.
  • Consults with medical staff and other health care providers on matters relating to laboratory and/or related services.
  • Provides direction for the Point of Care program for the System. Ensures improved quality care and customer service while maintaining a cost-effective laboratory service to customers.
  • Directs the design, implementation, and monitoring of the Quality Management Program for each laboratory division.
  • Works with Risk Management to investigate and resolve significant patient events which may affect patient care.
  • Serves as the compliance officer for Laboratory Services. Reviews regulations and works with the corporate compliance officer to ensure that the Laboratory is in compliance with licensing and regulatory agencies' standards.

Qualifications

  • As part of CAP requirements, copy of college diploma and transcript required upon hire.
  • ASCP or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree in MLT/MLS or equivalent
  • 5 - 8 years
