Operations Manager, 3D Visual Media Operations

About the Department

The 3D Visual Media Operations team is a rapidly growing team at Wayfair and one of Wayfair's top initiatives. For ecommerce, images sell products, however the traditional method of creating images in a photo studio is time consuming and expensive. Wayfair is partnering with Google, Facebook, and other leaders in the industry to disrupt the imagery space and shift the industry towards the creation of computer-generated 3D product models and rooms that can be combined to create imagery for products at a grand scale for a fraction of the cost.

About the Role

The 3D Visual Media Operations group is seeking a Manager to join the team at our Boston, Massachusetts Headquarters. This Manager will oversee the 3D Product Display Page (PDP) Wayfair Proprietary Imagery (WPI) production process from the point of demand dispatch through success imagery association to StoreFront, collaborating with organizational leadership to develop long term PDP production strategy and KPI targets, and will work cross-functionally with Visual Media Strategy, 3D Quality, FP&A and S&OP to support 3D PDP imagery production. At Wayfair, the 3D Visual Media operations team is responsible for managing the pipeline that produces thousands of 3D product images each month by componentizing the pipeline to improve production speed, cost efficiency, and output quality.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to and manage updates on the 3D visual media production roadmap
• Drive, track and report out on production and vendor performance KPIs, including unit cost and other financial metrics
• Collaborate with organizational leadership to design and implement long term 3D PDP imagery strategy
• Manage an execution-focused team within the Visual Media Factory
• Actively monitor 3D PDP imagery pipeline performance, evaluating progress and quality, ensuring corrective actions are taken when pivots are necessary
• Serve as a strategic partner for cross-functional groups, representing the operations component of the 3D Visual Media Factory

What You'll Need

• Comfortable with ambiguity and creating new processes from scratch
• Demonstrated management experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 3+ years of experience in Operations or Project Management
• Ability to break down large, complex, ambiguous goals into manageable pieces
• Previous experience within high scale 3D or imagery production or related e-commerce content production is a plus
• Experience with analyzing and interpreting large data sets (high Excel and GSuite proficiency is a must, experience with SQL / Python is a plus)
• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
