POSITION & OBJECTIVES: The Operations Technician for Gold Standard Diagnostics Horsham will participate in all operational processes on a day to day basis, including receiving of raw materials, manufacturing, packaging, and labelling activities, and shipment of product. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Package and label blended media
  • Shipping and logistics
  • Receive and inspect raw materials
  • Schedule freight pickups and ensure product is shipped based on promised delivery dates
  • Unload and identify raw materials at loading dock
  • Follow batch records and work instructions
  • Package and label finished product
  • Complete receiving paperwork, label and store material properly
  • Pick and pack customer orders
  • Dehydrated media production
  • Prepare media in accordance with batch record and fill appropriate containers with appropriate amounts of media
  • Follow batch records and work instructions
  • Weigh, mill, and blend powders in accordance with batch record
  • Liquid Media production
  • Learn and Operate autoclave to sterilize media
Qualifications
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
In Addition
The ideal candidate has 1-5 years of experience in a quality regulated (ISO, FDA cGMP, or other) environment. Experience with powder blending, liquid handling, and/or steam sterilization is highly desired. Knowledge of ISO 13485 standards is preferred.
  • Ability to work standing for long periods of time
  • Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including dust mask and safety goggles
  • Commitment to following the organization’s Quality Management System and complying with ISO 13485 guidelines and FDA GMP requirements for medical devices
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Background and/ or formal education in Microbiology is a plus
  • Ability to move up to 100 pounds
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Able to work occasional evenings or weekends as required
  • Ability to operate large automated blending and filling equipment
  • Commitment to good manufacturing practices and lab/warehouse safety
  • Ability to adapt to changing production demands and business growth
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
