Job Description
  • Participates in the negotiation of contracts for of transportation
  • Manage Personnel:
  • His input is very valued and important to the decision making of the company. Therefore, he is asked at any time to be a leader in work ethic, values, discipline and good decision making.
  • Follow the proper procedures for the safe use of tools and equipment associated with the employees’ position and properly maintain this equipment.
  • In emergency situation as well as in absence of CEO, he will be asked to step in and, if necessary, take necessary actions in order to assure that the company’s main goal of 100 % good product on time and in cost is reached or when the safety or security of employees or company is at stake (i.e. inclement weather).
  • Determine career plan for each departmental employee based on capability.
  • Establish annual personnel goals and objectives.
  • Encourage involvement in company functions to promote family concepts.
  • Report any workplace conditions that appear dangerous or potentially hazardous.
  • Is a member of the executive Management team of the Company. In this role you will have additional responsibilities to your regular line job functions.
  • Leads the Logistics Control Tower for the North American operations.
  • Responsible for the Plan-to-Produce, Order Processing and Inbound-to-Outbound processes, especially the material supply, production and logistics planning.
  • Achieve SMART goal objectives and report ongoing results/progress to manager
  • Contribute to maintaining a workplace free from serious recognized hazards and comply with standards, rules, regulations, and policies regarding safety protocol.
  • Immediately report any workplace injury or illness to your manager and Human Resources.
  • Taking an active part in the Evolvement of Company Culture:
  • Provide Education to Corporate Strategies throughout the organization.
  • Reports on timely delivery metrics as developed.
  • Assists in preparing annual department budget.
  • Conducts reviews in loading of commodities and evaluates existing procedures and standards.
  • Encouraging interactions of company employees in company sponsored events.
  • Determines most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation, using various rate and tariff manuals and motor freight
  • Effectively manage assigned logistics modes which includes (but is not limited to) supplier relationships, formal business reviews and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Further develop traffic team expertise in key areas by conducting continual market analysis and research
  • Is part of an advisory group to the CEO in a strategic capacity. Will also be tasked to head up cross function projects within the area of your expertise mainly of a strategic nature
  • Establish the freedom of work through defined tasks and responsibilities.
  • Leading cross functional teams to validate and implement strategic Product Supply System initiatives to scope, on budget and on-time that deliver the intended business results.
  • Any decisions have to be supported by at least members of the team and communicated appropriately.
  • Grasping leadership of potential barriers to promote teamwork.
  • Responsible to drive initiatives to reduce cost, improve quality and performance to the customer.
  • Attend all required Safety related training and or communication sessions.
  • Participates and/or leads in process mapping activities, continuing into developing SOPs and PWIs
  • Safety Responsibilities:
  • Tracks relevant parameters to support the Company’s strategy

Requirements

  • Aptitude and willingness to learn strategic sourcing, if not currently trained
  • Financial insight and analytical skills
  • 15+ years’ experience in Automotive Manufacturing Environment
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point and PowerBI
  • Excellent English communication skills, good Spanish knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP R/3 MM/WM
  • Negotiation and change management skills
  • Strong communication (oral and written)
  • Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Willingness to travel 10-25%
  • Strong timely problem solving skill set
