Offsite Licensed Practice Nurse-Hewlett, New York

The Offsite Licensed Practice Nurse works as part of a healthcare team by assisting in planning and implementing care interventions while promoting high quality patient care in a professional, efficient and safe manner, ensuring the patient flow. The Offsite Licensed Practice Nurse will also provide personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to patients. This person is expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge in this area and apply it to everyday practice.


Responsibilities

  • Manages medical inventory and supply ordering based on par levels.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments for patients as needed
  • Must work under the supervision of the physician or Registered Nurse.
  • Manages the physician's desktop accurately and in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assemble and use equipment appropriate to specific medical practice.
  • Introduces self to patient while escorting patient into the exam room.
  • Communicates delays effectively when necessary
  • Provide basic patient care and treatments, such as but not limited to: dressing wounds, performing catheterizations or applying compresses
  • Prepares the patient for exams and procedures
  • Cleans and prepare medical treatment rooms for patient visits
  • Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately.
  • Performs other related duties
  • Enters patient information into the computer accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Administers medications including all types of injections, IV therapy as needed and within the scope of licensure.
  • Provides clerical support to patients such as but not limited to making appointments, booking procedures, obtaining pre-authorizations and answering telephones.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients

Qualifications
  • LPN Program certificate
  • Complete competency skill checklist within first 3 months.
  • IV and/or phlebotomy skills preferred

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $28.84 - $32 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
