Job Description

  • Experience
  • Normal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Operates personal computer, calculator, telephone, various in-house software, printers, copier, video monitor, and VCR. Continuous sitting. Some walking, bending, and stooping. Lifting, carrying up to 20 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Education
  • Performs a variety of tasks and duties related to the department. This position will ensure the day to day office operations and functions of the department. Oversees a wide range of duties. Days activities will be varied. Responsible for all billing and coding functions for the department. Develops and maintains systems and procedures for financial and billing operations. This position is responsible for arranging special events for the community as needed. Will be responsible for accuracy and currentness of records in regards to coding and subsequent billing. Responsible for monthly reporting of departmental statistics. Prepares agency payroll. Prepares and maintains the agency's policy and procedure manuals. Routinely, assigns and responsibility directs staff. Ability to manage competing priorities, multi-task with results oriented outcomes and work in a fast paced environment. This position is required to utilize independent judgment.
  • Medical office experience preferred. Completion of medical terminology class preferred, but not necessary. Must have experience with word processing as well as Windows 95/98/NT. Sufficient knowledge of typing, English, spelling, and math to compile reports and perform various related tasks. Computer experience required. Experience with EMR preferred. Knowledge of billing, coding, and chargemaster maintenance preferred.
