The Occupational Wellness Coordinator will assist with the Early Symptom Intervention (ESI) Program and other injury prevention activities. They will also assist in enforcing and maintaining OSHA regulations, recordkeeping and reporting. The Injury Prevention Specialist will champion proactive safety, job coaching, ergonomic training, and one-on-one engagements with employees. They will ensure that Meyer is stiving to maintain compliance and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety guidelines to reduce work-related injuries and minimize the risk of ergonomic injury to employees through awareness, education and early intervention to improve techniques prior to the onset of soreness or injury.


Education/Certification(s)


  • Licenses: Occupational Therapy Assisting, Physical Therapy Assisting, or Athletic Training
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in OT, PT, or AT
  • Certifications: Active First Aid/CPR/AED certification and OSHA 30 hr preferred but not required


Preferred Experience


  • Experience in an occupational safety setting or therapy clinic preferred


Job duties for the Occupational Wellness Coordinator include but are not limited to:


  • Early Symptom Intervention (ESI) Program
  • Assist in management of Ergonomics Program and provide training when needed
  • Provide first aid to employees with follow up care as needed
  • Conduct proactive audits utilizing various assessments and resources
  • Maintain CEU’s for Indiana License and Certification
  • Assist with maintaining stretch program
  • Frequent engagement with both employee’s and supervisor’s
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Assist with Worker’s Compensation responsibilities including first reports, scheduling doctor’s appointments, working with clinics, and communicating with our work comp insurance carrier
  • Carry Safety cell phone

Job Requirements For The Occupational Wellness Coordinator


  • Planning, organizing and follow up skills – the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans, and follows up to ensure compliance
  • Communication – must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • General knowledge of federal and state worker’s compensation laws and experience with legal documents
  • Proficient in understanding musculoskeletal/soft tissue injuries
  • Practice a high level of confidentiality
  • Active Indiana OTA, PTA or AT License
  • Must be a Certified OTA, PTA or AT through NBCOT, NBCPT, or BOC or equivalent State Certification
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
