Function First Therapy, LLC is looking to hire a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team to provide services to the pediatric population within local school districts as well as at our pediatric outpatient therapy clinic. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will work part-time providing quality compassionate care to students and patients of various age levels. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will be responsible for implementing school-based and medical model based programs developed by a licensed occupational therapist and in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will also collaborate with school faculty and parents/guardians of the students, doctors, case managers, behavioral health specialist and with other Function First Therapy, LLC team members to enhance the child’s learning experience and help to improve their learning potential.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant responsibilities include:
·Administering standardized tests including The Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency Second Edition (BOT-2), Beery VMI, Sensory Processing Measure (SPM) and Sensory Profile.
·Following a plan of care set forth by a licensed occupational therapist through creating session activities based on goals
·Consulting with the occupational therapist, school faculty and parents of students for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations.
·Maintaining up to date and accurate records of students as required by contracted school districts including daily SOAP notes, quarterly reports cards, consultation reports and annual progress reports
·Participating in education and staff development courses, e.g. Safety Care Training
·Attending individual education program (IEP) meetings as requested by the Special Education Director
·Maintaining professional development credits
·Transportation between multiple sites within the school district for the purpose of providing occupational therapy services to students
·Assisting the occupational therapist in formulating new goals based on data analysis
·Accurate record keeping including billing information of services rendered
·Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
·Keeping supplies ready by maintaining an up-to-date inventory of materials and notifying occupational therapist of stock and additional needs in a timely manner
·Maintaining treatment equipment and supplies in a clean and proper working condition for the purpose of implementing therapy treatments and documentation
·Meeting or exceeding productivity standards set forth by the occupational therapist and Maine State law
Perform tele-therapy services via video communications as needed including access to a secure video conference location
Qualifications:
·Hold a valid driver’s license and have a means of transportation
·Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
·Current Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Maine
·Knowledge of principles, methods and equipment used in occupational therapy school-based treatments
·Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and video conferencing systems
·Effective verbal and written communication skills
·Effective organizational and time management skills
·Ability to work independently
·Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule
·Ability to work closely and professionally with others
·Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality
·Ability to lift 50 pounds
·Ability to meet requirements of criminal history records check through finger printing
