Nursing Supervisor Jobs

• PURPOSE OF JOB :

To provide Administrative coverage and representation from 1500-0700 Monday through Friday and 0700 to 0700 on weekends and holidays.

• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Evaluation of new and existing staff.
• Maintains clinical proficiency and knowledge of nursing policies and procedures in order to effectively represent hospital administration and service as a clinical resource to all departments.
• Maintains current knowledge of administrative, human resource and risk management polices and procedures in order to appropriately intervene in the best interest of the institution, staff and patient.
• Utilizes expert knowledge of the nursing process and application of nursing care principles to ensure quality patient care. Consideration to age-specific criteria in evaluating patient needs in all clinical areas.
• Utilizes critical assessment, evaluation and decision-making skills to implement emergency procedures in the event of internal/external disasters or emergencies.
• Utilizes managerial skills to effectively coordinate and evaluate hospital operations and implement alternative adjustments or accommodations as necessary.

Job Qualifications

V. QUALIFICATIONS :

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

• Current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department f State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs.
• BSN required.

Experience

• Five years' experience as a staff nurse, critical care experience.

• Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience or comparable charge nurse experience required.

Other Skills

• ACLS required

• Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively.
• Exceptional leadership and decision-making skills required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Certification in Specialty Nursing or Nursing Administration preferred.
