We are looking for skilled, detail oriented, professional registered nurses with experience working in long-term care for the full-time position of Nursing Services Surveyor Consultant. In this role you will be an integral part of our Public Health Division, conducting surveys and inspecting health care facilities used for Nurse Aide Training & Competency Evaluation Programs (NATCEP) to determine compliance with statutes and regulations and/or program requirements as well as investigating allegations of abuse/neglect of residents in licensed long term care facilities by Nurse Aides and Medication Aides.

Hiring Rate: $30.164 - $40.254/hour, pay rate based on years of RN work experience, if approved.
- Schedule survey and inspection activities to insure that completion of the required programming and examination of approved Nurse Aide education programs and complaint investigations, including any required follow-up revisits, are accomplished.
- Conduct investigations of alleged abuse/neglect of residents in licensed long term care facilities by Nurse Aides and Medication Aides; prepares written reports to document investigation.
- Provide consultation regarding state and federal requirements to entities conducting state approved Nurse Aide training programs, Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation programs.
- Interview staff, patients and families and review records to determine the adequacy of patient care and treatment by Nurse Aides, Medication Aides; prepares written reports to document deficiencies.
- Prepares for and provides testimony in contested licensure or certification cases.
- Conduct surveys and inspect health care facilities used for Nurse Aide Training & Competency Evaluation Programs (NATCEP) to determine compliance with statutes and regulations and/or program requirements
- Conduct on-site reviews of Nurse Aide training programs to determine whether such programs meet the requirements for state approval, conduct unannounced visits to investigate complaints regarding Nurse Aide training, and prepare written reports to document investigations.
- Provide information on statutes, regulations and survey or inspection protocols, interpretative guidelines and any other program requirements to assist providers in understanding and complying with licensure and certification requirements.
- Conducts Informal Conferences/Informal Dispute Resolution for disputed or contested cases involving health care facilities or health care services; or involving Nurse Aides or Medication Aides; prepare written reports following the proceeding.
PREFERRED:
- At least one year long term care/LTC experience
- RN BSN
- Knowledge of the principles of teaching and learning
- Competency Testing Experience (RN LPN NA MA)
OTHER: Must maintain RN licensure- unencumbered and in good standing Frequent overnight travel required- at least 2 weeks per month. Must be able to work at least one weekend/Sunday shift per quarter as required. Must be able to work 10 hour shifts, travel in a car up to 2 hours per day. Must be able to carry a laptop or tablet computer and perform and document observations of wound care, dining services, kitchen services, infection control, etc.
