The Nurse Supervisor is a key member of the Nursing Leadership Team who will support our patient centric nursing strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The Nurse Supervisor provides administrative and clinical supervision to all nursing staff throughout the hospital on assigned shift and acts as a liaison to department directors and administration to insure coordinated and efficient operations of services and departments. The Nurse Supervisor will adjust staffing as necessary for the evening, night and weekend shifts. The Nurse Supervisor will oversee all unit activities including, but not limited to, admissions, discharges, crisis intervention, restraint and/or seclusion and relieving for break or meals. The Nurse Supervisor manages the nursing staff to include all Nurses and Mental Health Technicians working on the unit as part of the nursing team and reports employee performance and/or relations issues to appropriate team members.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including adults and dually diagnosed patients.
• Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management and CPR training.
• Licensure and registration by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies as a registered nurse.
• Three years prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred, prior experience working with specific patient population and prior charge nurse experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.
