Job Description

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Nurse Manager and under the supervision of the professional nurse, the Student Nurse Extern (SNE) provides designated direct and indirect patient care activities and provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations. Patient population ranges from young adulthood through late adulthood.

Qualifications:

Per Diem Status But Able to Work Full Time Hours. Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, and Nights)

Start Date: May 22nd or June 5th 2023

NURSING STUDENTS WHO GRADUATE IN DECEMBER 2023 OR MAY 2024 ONLY WILL BE ACCEPTED INTO THIS PROGRAM

1. Education & Training: Student currently enrolled in an accredited college of nursing who has completed at least one semester of medical surgical clinical rotation.

2. Experience: Successful completion of Fundamentals in Nursing, completion of at least one medical surgical clinical rotation and clinical skills lab from an accredited professional nursing program.

3. License, Certification & Registration: American Heart Association – Basic Life Support CPR certification.

4. Other Requirements: Good organizational and interpersonal skills.

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
