7W Med Surg Nurse Extern

7 West, is a 39 bed Medical Telemetry Innovation unit. Our patients have a wide range of medical diagnoses, with a small population admitted for gynecologic oncology surgery.

• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
• Monitor intake and output.

• Perform vital signs measurement:

  • Temperature

  • pulse

  • respiration

  • blood pressure

  • pulse oximetry readings

• Blood pressure
• Demonstrates accountability for assigned patients on shift or assignment.
• Work under the supervision of the professional nurse, carry out routine patient care assignments, and work in controlled care situations and performs established nursing procedures for individual or groups of patients.
• Temperature
• Record on patient chart.
• Pulse
• Respiration
• Pulse oximetry readings

• BSN student who has successfully completed a med/surg clinical and BLS required.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
