Job Summary

Battelle is seeking a Nuclear Facility Operation Specialist is responsible for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of a nuclear power plant facility or a mobile nuclear power plant (MNPP). The position location is St. Roberts, MO.

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with internal and external physical security experts to ensure compliance with U.S. Army nuclear facility requirements.
  • Collects radiation data for both area and personnel
  • Analyzes preventative maintenance data to identify trends with equipment performance (e.g. blowers, filters, generators, compressors); interprets data and makes recommendations to management to reduce operational costs.
  • Serves as the primary operator of nuclear power plant (MNPP, Small Modular Reactor, etc.)
  • Trains support staff on mechanical systems, radiological systems, alarms, and responses.
  • Ensures that preventative maintenance is performed and nonscheduled repairs are completed on schedule and with minimal project impact.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field; 10 year’s of experience in power production and/or nuclear power production; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of how power production assets are deployed and utilized by the U.S.
  • Regulatory compliance (e.g., environmental, safety, building code, fire code), logistics, quality, purchasing/procurement, budget management, project management, systems coordination, computer and security technology, ability to interact with outside regulators.
  • Army for contingency support and in support of the National Response Framework
