As the COO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's vision and strategy, driving impactful programs, and forging meaningful partnerships. This leadership position offers a unique opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of children and the community as a whole.
Job Summary:
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will be at the forefront of driving our organization's mission and ensuring the seamless delivery of programs that positively impact the lives of underprivileged children. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our operational aspects, strengthening partnerships, and fostering a culture of excellence among our team members.
Operational Leadership:
- Assume leadership responsibilities in the CEO's absence and work with key administrators to address programmatic needs and opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO to align operational strategies with the organization's mission and goals.
Staff Development and Culture:
- Foster a highperforming and compassionate work environment that promotes teamwork and values individual contributions.
- Provide mentorship and support to Program Directors, managers, and staff to encourage their professional growth and development.
Program Excellence:
- Oversee the coordination, integration, and delivery of our key programs, ensuring they align with our mission and have a meaningful impact on children's lives.
- Collaborate with Program Directors to implement effective strategies that promote educational growth, skill building, and healthy lifestyles for children.
Regulatory Compliance and Partnerships:
- Ensure our programs adhere to all relevant regulations, licensing requirements, and safety standards.
- Cultivate strong relationships with funding agencies, partners, and other stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.
Financial and Administrative Management:
- Work closely with the CFO to develop and manage the annual budget, allocating resources strategically to support our programs' success.
- Uphold financial policies and internal controls to ensure responsible use of funds and transparent financial reporting.
Strategic Initiatives:
- Identify and implement innovative initiatives that further our mission and extend our impact on underresourced children.
- Evaluate program outcomes and data to continuously improve and optimize our services.
Vendor Management and Facilities:
- Oversee transportation and facilities management to ensure a safe and conducive environment for children and staff.
- Collaborate with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight.
- Strong commitment to the mission of empowering underresourced children and improving their lives.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and best practices within the nonprofit sector.
- Proven track record of 10+ years in leadership positions within nonprofit organizations, with a focus on program management and community outreach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with stakeholders and community partners.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, preferably in program management or a related field.
- Experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, compile reports, and leverage datadriven insights for decision-making.
