In the Operating Room you won’t have to care for multiple high acuity patients at once, instead you’ll be able to focus all your attention, time and energy to one patient’s care; easily one of the best aspects of surgical nursing.

Our department truly works as a team. We collaborate with each other to give our patients the best care possible. We are a unit that fosters growth. Each new nurse is paired with another nurse throughout orientation, so you can safely learn the ropes with guidance from your peers. We are passionate about patient safety. We foster a culture of safety in everything we do, like the pre-incision ‘time-out’ to verify patient identity and procedural consent, verifying implants before delivery to the field, safely positioning and ensuring proper padding, and pausing for enough help to safely transfer patients from bed to table.

If you’re looking to improve your relationships with the surgeons you briefly interact with during rounds, this is the place to do it! You can work shoulder to shoulder with our surgeons as you dive into scrub nursing and engage in great discussions as you circulate the room. There is no better environment for physician and Advanced Practice Provider interaction than inside an operating room.

Minimum Qualifications:

New Grad RN

Entry Pay: $30.27

• Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing/RN education program (education will be verified).

RN

Entry Pay: $33.19

• Current RN License in state of practice.

New Grad RN and RN

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.
