- JOB SUMMARYThe Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA) provides direct and indirect care that is consistent with current evidence-based practice in collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and other members of the health care team, while under the direct supervision of a licensed RN preceptor. The RNA will remain under the direct supervision of a licensed RN preceptor and may not engage in independent nursing practice.

- DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Under the supervision of the precepting RN:
- Assesses patient and/or conducts screenings and documents utilizing standard scales when indicated as required per organization.
- Prioritizes and documents patient problems based on assessed needs/problems in collaboration with patient, family, and health care team.
- Documents changes in patient condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care/intervention.
- Utilizes organization-wide safe medication practices including, but not limited to the 5 rights of medication administration, barcode scanning and other medication safety processes specific to the unit/department. - EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of a school of nursing for Registered Nurses.
- Current Provisional License in the Commonwealth of KY.

- Achieves and maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
