Network & Security Solutions Engineer

Attention, defenders of the network! We are on a quest to find an enchanter of network and security solutions to join our ranks. The adventures to be found are many and varied, while no two days are ever the same. They include:

Manage fortresses of firewalls, DMZs, subnets, and VPNs while wearing an absurdly oversized medieval helmet; protect our digital territories and data assets from those who practice the dark arts, while taunting threat actors under your breath using an outrageous French accent; respond to cyberattacks with an airspeed velocity faster than that of an unladen swallow; brave a treacherous forest of cables and datacenters, vanquish complex network and routing issues, and quell unrest within our networks; fortify security controls in allegiance with your fellow Nobles of the IT Round Table, and develop cybersecurity training with the option to use flying cows to educate employees on spotting malicious emails.

We're not looking for just any ordinary rabbit. If you possess the bravery of Sir Lancelot and the sharpness of a Black Knight's sword, we would love to meet you! A good sense of humor will serve you well: the responsibilities in our charge are immense, but we don't take ourselves too seriously.

This position is responsible for directing the technical activities required for the design, security, installation, integration, and ongoing support of the City of Albany unified communications network. Pay: $37.65 - $48.05 per hour
