Job Duties

Virginia Tax is seeking a .Net CRM Developer to help transform our Customer Relationship Management software, Oracle Siebel CRM.


Meeting the needs of taxpayers is critical to the agency and the Commonwealth, this position will work with business and technical staff to refine requirements, formulate systems designs, and develop system enhancements that ensure the needs of both Virginia Citizens and its Government, are met.


You will manage projects that improve the technical efficiency and effectiveness of multiple areas of the agency. You and your .Net programming skills will be on the vanguard of solving agency problems by developing solutions to assist with one of our most complex and critical application.


Oracle Siebel CRM is an industry leading tool that helps Virginia Tax improve service to taxpayers. It serves as the Department’s primary case management tool for customer service and collections. As a key Developer for this application, you will be responsible for improving its functionality and ensuring it meets the needs of the agency and our customers.


This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule.


This position may work from either the Richmond or Norfolk office.


The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience up to $110,000.

Virginia Tax, headquartered in Richmond, is responsible for administering 37 state and local taxes, sales and use taxes, and miscellaneous excise taxes with integrity, efficiency, and consistency. Virginia Tax works directly with individual and business taxpayers and local governments to ensure the Commonwealth’s revenue is collected and taxes administered with fairness, diligence, and integrity.


Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of .NET programming, for example: VB.NET, C#, the .NET Framework and Visual Studio. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Powershell, Javascript and VB Script.


Proficiency in Oracle Database, Oracle SQL, and minimum knowledge to troubleshoot Oracle server issues.


Ability to troubleshoot client server technologies (for example IIS, JBOSS, Apache Tomcat).


Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of SIEBEL or other CRM Software


Knowledge of Agile methodology
