NARRATIVE LEAD


As the Narrative Lead, you will be a major force in shaping the narrative & storytelling for a brand new IP for an AAA project still in its early stages. You'll take a leadership role in telling the story of a brand new world, and implementing it over the course of the project. We're looking for someone who loves finding creative and non-traditional ways to tell stories, convey personality, and impart emotion into a game experience.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide constructive feedback to team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to direct through text, audio, graphics, animation, VFX, voice acting, and more, to tell a compelling story
  • The ability to direct internal and external writers and edit their work
  • Manage and balance competing demands between creative vision and technical / ludonarrative constraints
  • Shape tools development & evolution which enables other creatives to author effectively
  • Generate captivating personalities, settings, emotional arcs, and themes that create lasting memories
  • Desire and ability to take an idea and see it through to implementation, guiding artists, designers, and other team members to bring the vision to life


What you bring to our adventuring party:


  • Extraordinary levels of collaboration, and leadership all while making high-level decisions that lead to compelling vision
  • 7+ years total game development experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to create a cohesive set of storylines that intertwine throughout the game's experience.
  • Prior experience managing both full time and freelance writers and narrative designers
  • Shipped at least one AAA title or narratively impactful AA title from inception to launch in a creative/narrative leadership role


Bonuses:

  • Experience working on a live service title
  • Coding/Scripting experience, implementing narrative work into a project

The base annual salary range for this position in the United States is $75,000 - $160,000. The base salary is just one part of the overall compensation package. SEMC also offers a package of benefits, including, healthcare coverage, unlimited PTO, a remote work environment, flex working schedule, parental leave support, 100% 401k match on the first 3% of your contribution, and paid local hangout meals and events. This base pay range is for the United States only and does not apply to international locations. The range for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
