Job Description

The Role:
GM's Creative Design organization is seeking a motion graphics designer to join the visualization team of our exciting automotive concept design studio in the Los Angeles area. In this role, you will use your skills to help tell compelling design stories and help drive the company’s vision for next generation user interfaces.

This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite an average of three 3 or possiby more days each week.
What You’ll Do
  • Work with colleagues on the visualization team and stakeholders from other departments to develop concepts for narrative videos.
  • Collaborate with members of the design team to envision future concepts for the total vehicle user experience, including in-vehicle HMI
  • Use an array of tools to contribute motion design, visual effects, editing, and post-production work to the team’s output
  • Express ideas for these videos in the form of mood boards, style frames, and storyboards which will be used to drive their execution

Your Skills & Abilities
  • Strong motion graphics abilities with a good sense of typography
  • Great interpersonal skills and a collaborative mentality
  • Ability to express creative ideas clearly and succinctly to leadership
  • This role requires a portfolio to be considered
  • Cinema 4D
  • General 2D/3D skillset including some knowledge of Maya and Unreal Engine
  • High proficiency Adobe Creative Cloud Suite with an emphasis on After Effects and XD
  • Strong creative abilities – be able to independently conceptualize ideas based on each project’s given specifications

  • The salary range for this role is ($100,530 – $160,587). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
