Motion Designer Jobs

At Column Five, Designers are many things: They are hyper-creative visual problem solvers; they are lovers of beautiful design; they have good senses of humor; they are technologically adept and self-motivated; and they have an insatiable curiosity for the world around them.

We’re looking to add to our team a Motion Designer who is able to solve complex design problems using skills in storyboarding, animation, and creative storytelling. Advanced skills in After Effects, Premiere Pro and the ability to translate static design into memorable motion graphics are both musts. Beyond motion skills we are looking for a designer with an general understanding of foundational design elements from compositional layout to illustration to typography across a variety of project types.

Motion Designers are vital team players and collaborate with Producers, Designers and Art Directors on each project. They understand that organization, critical thinking, and strong communication skills are equally important as the work itself. Motion Designers at Column Five are constantly pushing themselves and the team around them to improve, while still having a good time.

Requirements

Portfolio must show examples of motion graphics

Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite specifically in After Effects and Premiere Pro a must (Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Cinema 4D a plus)

Education in graphic design (BFA preferred)

Strong communication skills, ability to clearly articulate design decisions

Humility and hunger to learn and grow

Preferred: 1 to 3 years of experience in an agency or comparable full-time design position
