Description


This is a Full Time position located in 2 South RN Unit


  • Notifies RN of cardiac rhythm variances that indicate pacemaker malfunction.
  • Reviews alarm trends at the end of the shift, reporting/"hand off" to the oncoming shift.
  • Seeks assistance in identifying unusual rhythms.
  • And variance from baseline.
  • Discharging patient to monitor, changing batteries, electrodes, and cleaning equipment.
  • Initiates, discontinues and maintains telemetry monitoring as ordered: admitting or
  • Monitors and reviews patient information to determine baseline cardiac rhythm analysis
  • Records telemetry strip every 4 hours and gives the strip to the RN.


Position Summary


As a Monitor Technician, you will work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a licensed clinical professional in a clinic or practice environment. A Monitor Tech observes the heartbeats and electrocardiograms (EKG) of patients in intensive care units or ICUs.


What You Will Do


  • Notifies RN of cardiac rhythm variances that indicate pacemaker malfunction.
  • Examine heartbeat patterns, noting heartbeat irregularities in patient files, ensuring that heart monitors are functioning correctly, and reporting to the medical staff in charge of the patients
  • Monitors and reviews patient information to determine baseline cardiac rhythm analysis


What You Will Need


  • Preferred 1-2 years of previous job-related experience.
  • Required current BLS card
  • Required Formal EKG class with a minimum of 24 hours.
  • Required successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Assessment test with a score of 80% or better.
  • Related training required through work experience and education.
  • Required a High School Diploma
