As a Machine Learning and AI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing machine learning models, conducting research to improve the current algorithms, and maintaining the ML/AI infrastructure. You will be working closely with our data scientists and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into ML/AI solutions. A significant part of your role will be focused on leveraging AI technologies, including OpenAI and GPT, to drive innovation and improve our products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning algorithms and models.
- Use Azure ML services to develop and deploy ML models at scale.
- Leverage AI technologies, including OpenAI and GPT, to drive innovation and improve our products and services.
- Collaborate with data scientists and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into ML/AI solutions.
- Conduct research to improve the current ML/AI algorithms and systems.
- Maintain the ML/AI infrastructure, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and security.
- Stay updated with the latest ML/AI trends and technologies.
- Automate machine learning pipelines to retrain and automatically deploy models due to data drift or on a schedule.
- Monitor models running in production and log relevant data.
- Build API interfaces in Azure that expose machine learning models as a service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field like Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field is required. Advanced degree preferred.
- At least 1-3 years business domain experience implementing data-driven, analytical solutions that improve product development, marketing, or other business objectives that were operationalized and delivered actual results to the business.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Experience deploying models, operationalizing models into business processes.
- Advanced knowledge of machine learning models and techniques (regression, classification, decision trees, clustering, and neural networks, etc.)
- Deep understanding of ML model diagnostics, tuning and the interpretation of models.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, MLOps and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
- Strong data wrangling skills and proven experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Experience working with big data tools/environments, such as, Hadoop, Spark, Apache Beam, and Databricks is a strong plus.
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments.
- Proven experience building and deploying ML models in Azure cloud.
- Expert in at least one machine learning use case, such as, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Time Series Forecasting, etc.
- Experience with AI technologies, particularly OpenAI and GPT.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with LangChain, Hugging Face.
- Experience with other cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.

For California, the expected salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $160,000. The salary range may be different if the successful employee is in a different state. This position is also eligible for performance bonuses. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
