As a Machine Learning and AI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing machine learning models, conducting research to improve the current algorithms, and maintaining the ML/AI infrastructure. You will be working closely with our data scientists and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into ML/AI solutions. A significant part of your role will be focused on leveraging AI technologies, including OpenAI and GPT, to drive innovation and improve our products and services.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and implement machine learning algorithms and models.
2. Use Azure ML services to develop and deploy ML models at scale.
3. Leverage AI technologies, including OpenAI and GPT, to drive innovation and improve our products and services.
4. Collaborate with data scientists and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into ML/AI solutions.
5. Conduct research to improve the current ML/AI algorithms and systems.
6. Maintain the ML/AI infrastructure, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and security.
7. Stay updated with the latest ML/AI trends and technologies.
8. Automate machine learning pipelines to retrain and automatically deploy models due to data drift or on a schedule.
9. Monitor models running in production and log relevant data.
10. Build API interfaces in Azure that expose machine learning models as a service.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field like Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field is required. Advanced degree preferred.
2. At least 1-3 years business domain experience implementing data-driven, analytical solutions that improve product development, marketing, or other business objectives that were operationalized and delivered actual results to the business.
3. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
4. Experience deploying models, operationalizing models into business processes.
5. Advanced knowledge of machine learning models and techniques (regression, classification, decision trees, clustering, and neural networks, etc.)
6. Deep understanding of ML model diagnostics, tuning and the interpretation of models.
7. Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, MLOps and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
8. Strong data wrangling skills and proven experience working with large, complex datasets.
9. Experience working with big data tools/environments, such as, Hadoop, Spark, Apache Beam, and Databricks is a strong plus.
10. Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments.
11. Proven experience building and deploying ML models in Azure cloud.
12. Expert in at least one machine learning use case, such as, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Time Series Forecasting, etc.
13. Experience with AI technologies, particularly OpenAI and GPT.

Nice to Have:

1. Experience with LangChain, Hugging Face.
2. Experience with other cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.

For California, the expected salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $160,000. The salary range may be different if the successful employee is in a different state. This position is also eligible for performance bonuses. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
