Job Description

ECS is seeking a Mid Tier SOC Analyst to work in our Suitland, MD office.

:

  • Coordinate incident response functions.
  • Implement new system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
  • Patch network vulnerabilities to ensure that information is safeguarded against outside parties.
  • Wednesday to Saturday 12-10pm shift
  • Install or replace network hubs, routers, and switches.
  • Integrate new systems into existing network architecture.
  • Monitor network capacity and performance.
  • Configure and optimize network hubs, routers, and switches (e.g., higher-level protocols, tunneling).
  • Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures.
  • Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.
  • Provide feedback on network requirements, including network architecture and infrastructure.
  • Diagnose network connectivity problem.
  • Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software (e.g., IOS, firmware).

Required Skills:

  • Operate the organization's LAN/WAN pathways.
  • Experience operating network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, transmission media, and related hardware.
  • Interpret the information collected by network tools (e.g. Nslookup, Ping, and Traceroute).
  • Operate different electronic communication systems and methods (e.g., e-mail, VOIP, IM, web forums, Direct Video Broadcasts).
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, Dynamic Host Configuration, Domain Name System (DNS), and directory services.
  • Experience with how traffic flows across the network (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol [TCP] and Internet Protocol [IP], Open System Interconnection Model [OSI], Information Technology Infrastructure Library, current version [ITIL]).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Monitor measures or indicators of system performance and availability.
  • Knowledge of measures or indicators of system performance and availability.
  • Ability to execute OS command line (e.g., ipconfig, netstat, dir, nbtstat).
  • Operate common network tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, nslookup).
  • Extensive experience monitoring traffic flows across the network.
  • Knowledge of local area and wide area networking principles and concepts including bandwidth management.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • 5+ years’ experience in network management and experience directly performing configurations and security implementation on LAN and WAN equipment
  • Active Secret clearance or eligible to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Certifications addressing system security, network infrastructure, access control, cryptography, assessments and audits, and organizational security
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

Desired Skills:

  • Implementing, maintaining, and improving established network security practices.
  • Establishing a routing scheme.
  • Skill in securing network communications and protecting a network against malware. (e.g., NIPS, anti-malware, restrict/prevent external devices, spam filters).
  • Experience sing network management tools to analyze network traffic patterns (e.g., simple network management protocol).
  • Applying various subnet techniques (e.g., CIDR)
  • Configuring and utilizing computer protection components (e.g., hardware firewalls, servers, routers, as appropriate).
  • Implementing and testing network infrastructure contingency and recovery plans.
  • Configuring and utilizing network protection components (e.g., Firewalls, VPNs, network intrusion detection systems).
  • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting LAN and WAN components such as routers, hubs, and switches.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
