The Boeing Learning Design Team is looking for a Mid-level Human Factors Researcher to join our team in our Hazelwood, MO or Englewood, CO locations. The Human Factors Researcher will join a team developing innovative methods and technologies to shape the future of aerospace training. The successful applicant will design and conduct research to understand complex human performance issues and evaluate the viability of new processes and technologies for facilitating training, and will also contribute to the success of Boeing business units through the identification and execution of human factors integration activities to meet operational requirements.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Support ongoing research collaborations with internal and external partners.
  • Independently design and execute research to derive valuable insights into human performance.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge on the latest developments in relevant topics within the fields of human factors, psychology, and learning science.
  • Identify opportunities to improve training delivery through the application of evidence-based learning principles.
  • Acquire, assimilate, and report research findings.
  • Conduct literature reviews on diverse topics.
  • Independently develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Manage project requirements.


This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.


This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Factors, Psychology, or Humanities with emphasis on Systems Engineering, Safety or Aviation
  • 1+ years Human Factors experience do you have within the aerospace/flight operation industry


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):


  • 3+ years of experience do you have researching and analyzing data
  • Experience in a role that required the ability to work in a collaborative environment with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication skills including written and oral presentations
  • Experience interfacing with all engineering disciplines and be able to work in a team environment and work independently as required


Education & Experience:


Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $97,750 - 132,250

  • 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
