Our Design Team
At Second Dinner, we believe great design ideas come from everywhere and everyone, and it’s our job as Game Designers to collate, refine, implement, iterate and help bring those ideas to life. We partner with every part of the studio, art, engineering, production, UX, product, analytics, and sound, to make the most fun and engaging experiences possible for our players. The Design team drives the designs of both live in-game experiences and all upcoming features and content going into the game worldwide.
Your Role
Second Dinner is looking for a game designer to help us create our next world class game! In this role you will work closely with project leadership to design and playtest new content for an unannounced game.
While this is primarily a content-focused role, the responsibilities of the job can grow with you! The right person for this position will be comfortable designing and implementing content and running effective playtests. They’ll also be hungry to learn and grow in their skills, and an excellent communicator.

What You’ll Do:
- Organize and run effective playtests that generate actionable feedback
- Assist with a broad range of other game design work, sometimes as a collaborator and sometimes as a core designer and implementer
- Iterate on content based on playtest feedback
- Design and implement super fun new content
What You’ll Need:
- Experience designing games
- Hunger to learn how to implement and adjust game content using tools and scripting
- Passion for Game Design
- Experience playing a wide variety of games, especially turn-based strategy and mobile.
- Excellent communication skills
Nice to Have, But Not Necessary:
- Technical experience implementing gameplay mechanics (either via scripting or code).
- Experience developing and/or working on a live service or mobile game.
- Understanding of the needs/desires/motivations of a wide variety of gamers.
The total compensation for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $80,000 - $150,000 USD + equity + comprehensive benefits + potential for discretionary performance bonuses.
Individual pay within this salary range may span multiple levels within the discipline and is determined by assessed job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training. It also factors in market demands and business needs. The disclosed range is not adjusted based on location and may be subject to change or modification based on business needs in the future. Your recruiter can answer any questions about new hire total compensation during the hiring process.
