Job Description

You will help to ensure that patients and physicians have the medicines they need, when they need them.

What You Will Achieve
The Microbiologist will be expected to develop collaborative relationships with the staff in each of the Business Units and the appropriate Quality representatives in order to facilitate continuous improvement of the applicable areas. The incumbent needs to have experience in Environmental Monitoring and a thorough working knowledge of the appropriate regulations. This individual will be responsible for conducting routine area walk-throughs and identifying areas for potential microbial contamination, communicating findings, and driving appropriate corrective actions.
The individual will be expected to have knowledge of MODA (or equivalent system) and be able to identify trends and aberrant sample results and assessing the impacted areas to determine root cause and assisting with ongoing investigations.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Perform observations of sanitation, aseptic techniques, clean room behaviors, equipment cleaning/loading activities, and gowning.
  • Assist with area investigations and CAPAs.
  • Perform necessary assessments of Aseptic or Terminal Sterilized SVP Filling operation and update necessary documents.
  • Provide support to aseptic process simulations (media fills), smoke studies, and hypercare for new aseptic processes when implemented.
  • Generate change controls for procedure updates
  • Strategically assesses statistical and report information from the MODA database to determine if actions are necessary; facilitate weekly excursion reviews and huddles with applicable colleagues to discuss excursions and possible root causes.
  • Complete area walk-downs, identify areas for potential microbial contamination, communicate findings, and drive corrective actions.

Qualifications
Must-Have
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with others to achieve team goals and expectations
  • OR an Associate's degree with four years of experience;
  • Experience in aseptic processing
  • Requires strong oral, written, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Applicant must have High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with six years of relevant experience;
  • Must be familiar with laboratory systems such as MODA
  • Requires thorough knowledge of GMP’s and ability to handle multiple projects
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • OR a Bachelor's degree with 0+ years of experience.

Preferred
  • Prior trending experience preferred
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to function under a stressful situation while being able to remain focused at the necessary requirements. In addition, must be able to appropriately identify and escalate issues on a timely basis.
Must be able to consistently aseptic gown.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • 2nd shift (3-11p)
  • Must be able to work on weekend, off shifts and holiday as business demands.
