Job Description

The Phinery is an interior design studio with stores in N Seattle (Greenwood area) and downtown Kirkland. We are looking for a proactive leader to fill a new Retail Merchandiser position, who will be responsible for The Phinery line list. This position will report directly to the Principal Designer and owner of The Phinery.

Required:

  • Availability to work full-time five days per week, one being a weekend day, supporting both locations.
  • 2-5 years relationship selling experience within a retail environment (preferably in a home furnishings field).
  • College degree in business, art, interior design, or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS software, and spreadsheets


Responsibilities:

  • Support walk-in clients 5 days a week from 10-4pm, alternating between Kirkland and Seattle locations. Manage seasonal retail and administrative support staff, if needed.
  • Purchase stock for demo display and retail sales to support both the Kirkland and Greenwood locations. Manage deliveries, including unpacking, tagging, POS updates and recycling. Organize stock room and restock product in both showrooms, as needed. Transport merchandise, as needed. Re-merchandise and decorate showrooms to accommodate new products seasonally. Keep facilities clean, organized and presentable.
  • Strengthen and evolve The Phinery's product line list to align with our brand, current trends, sell-thru and profitability. Attend design markets (requires travel) and coordinate vendor meetings to see new product introductions. Work closely with internal teams to train on new product introductions and closeouts. Closely track sales and profitability by category and by vendor.


Skills:

  • Strong visual merchandising and decorating skills
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets, running reports and analyzing data
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Naturally driven to keep everything organized, clean and presentable at all times.
  • Ability to create cohesive, sellable product collections that align with The Phinery brand and current trends
