Job Description

Pay Grade/Pay Range: Based on Qualifications

Department/Organization: 208185 - Brewer Porch Children's Center

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; limited nights and weekends

Job Summary: The Mental Health Professional I (MHP I) provides professional clinical services to assigned clients.

Additional Department Summary: This position is assigned to the Brewer's Porch Children's Center (BPCC) located in Tuscaloosa.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in a mental-health related field such as counseling, psychology or social work.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to perform crisis intervention techniques.

Must be able to successfully complete the Alabama Department of Mental Health mandated training for the Child and Adolescent Needs Assessment (CANS) tool within 60 days of hire, and maintain training requirements as required by the facility.

Final candidates who are not current Brewer-Porch Children's Center employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Skills and Knowledge: Desire to exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in patient/staff interactions. Willingness to learn and consistently deliver patient centered high quality customer friendly service. Understanding of the need for strict confidentially of protected health information and the requirement to follow HIPAA regulations at all times. Punctual and reliable.
