MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE GRANT PROGRAM MANAGER

1 year, with possible extensions up to 3 years, Grant Funded Position


Description:

Project Manager assumes responsibility for overall implementation of grant program requirements and programming, supervision of grant Program Manager, and overseeing reporting of grant information as required by district, state and federal contacts as required.

The Project Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of the Youth Mental Health First Aid / Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA/MHFA) program within the Arlington Mental Health Initiative. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating YMHFA/MHFA trainings for staff, students, and community partners, overseeing credentialing, data collection, and tracking related activities to ensure that the program meets its goals and achieves its objectives.

In this role, the Program Manager will be responsible for becoming a dual trained YMHFA/AMHFA instructor, if not already certified. The Program Manager is expected to model the role of an exemplary instructor. The primary role of instructors is to teach the Mental Health First Aid course with fidelity to the core program model and key messages.


Candidates should have knowledge of or experience with mental health problems (experience with Mental Health First Aid preferred), prior experience in training adult learners and a commitment and strategic plan to roll out Mental Health First Aid in the community.


Responsibilities:

  • Setting course schedules
  • Coordinates all aspects of the implementation of YMHFA/MHFA trainings:
    • Strategic planning for training implementation (e.g., forming community partnerships, outreach)
    • Setting course schedules

  • Marketing and media outreach
  • Setting and collecting course fees
  • Manage all communication pertaining to YMHFA/MHFA trainings
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all MHFA/YMHFA credentialed trainers, trainings provided, and numbers of trained staff
  • Oversees internal policies and procedures related to YMHFA/MHFA training
  • Responsible for data collection and program evaluation issues, including interface with Project Director
  • Works with Program Director to ensure that all program requirements are met
  • Implement the action plan of the roll out of the Advisory Council and the AMHI grant program
  • Coordinate Advisory Council meetings and agendas


Qualifications for position:

  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree + 5 years of work experience
  • Commitment to improving and increasing access to quality mental health care for young people, caregivers, community members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with project management, planning and coordinating events, such as training/professional development
  • Experience providing training, outreach, engagement in the health/behavioral health field


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time, 205 days. Eligible for benefits provided to benefit-eligible employees, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, sick leave and personal leave.

SALARY RANGE:
75,500 - 79,500 per year
