Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964.Oneonta Job Corps& offers training in the medical trades (Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, and Medical Administrative Assistant), Automobile trades (Auto Body and Auto Technician), Construction Trades (Tile Setting, Cement Mason, and Electrical), and our advanced trades (Overhead Line, Rural Underground Distribution, SMART Meter, and our Drone Program).& Position Available: Center Mental Health CounselorWe are seeking a full-time Center Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) who is reliable, compassionate, has a great work ethic, and also loves to work with youth! Be the person students turn to as they develop the resilience skills necessary to maintain their mental health in the workplace.& In this position, you will focus on the early identification and diagnosis of mental-health problems, basic mental-health care, and mental-health promotion, prevention, and education designed to help students overcome barriers to employability. The program uses an employee assistance program approach that includes short-term counseling with an employability focus, referral to center support groups, and crisis intervention. You will review social intakes assessments of Job Corps applicants, assess and make recommendations for referred students, and design and implement educational mental health promotions.& You will provide treatment in the form of short-term counseling and mental health-checks in collaboration with Health and Wellness staff as well as Career Counselors and provide crisis intervention and evaluation as needed.& We are looking for an individual who is well organized with great attention to detail and possesses strong oral and written communication skills. In this position, a successful person will be knowledgeable of current mental health best practices and mental health challenges faced by the diverse group of students we serve (ages 16-24).& The ability to work as a team member and the ability to be self-motivated is essential for success. The position requires proficiency in the use of computers and common computer software (Microsoft Office and other career options and job search applications).& Candidate must have an active, unrestricted license to practice as an independent practitioner in New York and not require supervision to practice.& A Clinical/Counseling Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker with a minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed independent practitioner providing assessment and treatment services to adolescents and young adults.& Mus
