Job Description

WRKF is seeking a Membership Manager with a minimum of two years of experience organizing and implementing fundraising activities. As an essential member of WRKF’s fundraising team, you will play a vital role in achieving the station’s membership revenue goals. You will lead and execute WRKF's efforts through various fundraising methods, including direct mail, email marketing, on-air messaging, and live on-air fund drives. Reporting to the Development Director, you will work closely with and oversee the Development Associate and serve as a key contact for WRKF’s valued members and listeners.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, promote, and execute engaging membership events.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to the station’s members and the public.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the membership department and external vendors and partners, including premium vendors.
  • Use the membership database proficiently and provide comprehensive reports to senior management.
  • Produce targeted letters, emails, and radio announcements to attract, acknowledge, and retain members.
  • Maintain inventory of station premiums.
  • Create an annual fundraising plan encompassing on-air fund drives, direct mail campaigns, and social media initiatives.
  • Manage on-air pledge drives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue, member retention, and growth goals.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines accurately.
  • Two years of experience in organizing and implementing fundraising activities or customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and work independently.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in broadcast radio
  • Previous involvement in public radio fundraising, including managing on-air pledge drives.
  • Proficiency in planning, creating, executing, analyzing, and reporting on fundraising programs.
