Medical Scribe (Full-Time) - Podiatry (Boulder, Co)

Summary
Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking Medical Scribe candidates to join our Podiatry Team! This position works 34 hours per week, Monday through Friday with Tuesdays off.
Job Perks

• Day shift schedules are Monday through Friday. There are occasional voluntary four (4) hour shifts on Saturday mornings from 8 am - 12 pm for several primary clinics (Family Medicine and Pediatrics).
• Experience working in both primary care and specialty care clinics.

Job Duties

• Lists all proper admission or discharge diagnoses as well as follow-up care instructions as dictated by provider.
• Demonstrates proficiency with medical terminology and billing & coding knowledge in all documentation.
• Documents the time and reasoning for patient orders including lab tests, radiology tests and medications. Submits lab orders electronically.
• Documents any procedures performed by provider.
• Accompanies the provider into the exam room to accurately and efficiently document the encounter.

Required Experience

• Relate well and communicate with patients, providers, and staff.
• Good history-taking skills, strong, competent computer skills
• Broad knowledge base of cardiology practices, knowledge of acute practice based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.
• Able to demonstrate self-direction in establishing priorities and working with little supervision.Able to maintain high level of precision in judgment, accuracy of assessment, and skill in problem solving under stress based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.
• Must be able to recognize and identify patients symptoms and use appropriate professional judgment in course of action.
• Accurate and complete documentation skills
• Exposure to multiple EMR platforms is highly desired
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with at least one major EMR platform (such as Epic, NextGen, Greenway, etc.)

Education

• Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) education program.
• Active EMT and / or Surgical Tech certification are acceptable credentials to substitute Medical Assistant (MA) education.
• Completion of a bachelors degree with an concentration in science / health sciences are acceptable credentials to substitute Medical Assistant (MA) education. Applicant(s) must submit unofficial college transcripts for Medical Assistant (MA) job placement approval

Previous Experience

• 1-2 years experience as a medical scribe in a hospital or clinic setting, preferred.

Salary Range

• $16.69 - $21.70 / per hour; depending on experience
