Unit/Location: Medical Laboratory Technician Travel Program is part of Intermountain Health a nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Caregivers who join our Travel Program enjoy assignments at locations throughout the Western Slope of Colorado, Denver Metro and Montana areas. All travel assignments are on 12-week rotations. All eligible job-related expenses and lodging allowance will be covered by Intermountain Health and are fully benefited based on FTE status.

Qualifications:

Flat Rate: $50.00 hourly

Medical Laboratory Technician responsibilities:

• Conduct verification tests on new products, instruments, procedures which includes comparisons, statistical analysis as requested.
• Assist in training and orientation of new associates.
• Perform serologic, chemical, bacteriologic, immunohematologic (blood bank), and microscopic procedures and related duties, to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Perform quality audit data collection, technical policy/procedure development, inspection assistance, donor files under the direction of laboratory management. Maintain workflow in clinical laboratory through proficiency in testing and maintaining work areas, supply stock, monitoring and assistance in management of inventory.
• Perform laboratory quality control, including reporting discrepancies, troubleshooting according to established procedures and protocols.
• Perform accurate and appropriate testing on laboratory specimens/collections according to established laboratory protocol and procedures. Report results in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Associates Degree is required within 30 days of hire. Montana Care Sites: Associates degree is required at time of hire.
• Flexibility in assignment - Shift & Day of the week, required.
• At least one (1) year of experience in a similar role/setting, preferred.
• Able to provide care within all SCL Health care sites, required.
• Current ASCP or ASCP-I certification and applicable licensure, required.
• Relocation to another care site within SCL Health may be required every 6 - 12 weeks, required.
