OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: To ensure that the transportation needs of the Health Center are met

ESSENTIAL TASKS :

• Interact and coordinate activities related to transportation with various office staff.
• Responsible for accommodating special medical driving assignments as necessary.
• Accompany and supervise youth during overnight procedures such as sleep studies and /or hospital stays as needed.
• Arrange driver coverage for overlapping, additional or emergency trips through appropriate channels.
• Receive correct follow-up instructions for further medical evaluation that may be needed and report these instructions to appropriate Health Center personnel.
• Delivery of medications and medical supplies to clients in the community.
• Provides missed meals for residents.
• Support the clerical and clinical staff of the health center by assisting in clerical functions and non-clinical care delivery as needed during intervals between medical transports.Tasks may include but are not limited to answering telephones, filing, scanning and making copies of documents, stocking medical supplies, escorting youth to and from the Health Center, and supervising youth awaiting health care services.
• Coordinates medical documents prior to scheduled appointments.
• Transports residents for scheduled medical evaluations and provide support and supervision during appointment.
• Shift consists of 8 hours primarily during the day with flexibility to meet medical services needs as required.
• Distribute city trip medications to cottages as needed.
• Maintains communication with Health Center via cell telephone.
• Deliver lab specimens as needed.
• Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the vans assigned to the program.
• Pick up prescriptions and medical supplies for youth in the community.
• Responsible for driving children and staff to a variety of medical appointments on a daily basis and other medical driving as needed.
• Coordinates off campus medical trips with cottages and health center staff.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED, Valid NYS Drivers License

PAY RATE: $18.50 per hour
