Medical Disease Control Rn

Earn $95,000 annually, plus 160 hours paid vacation, 12 paid sick days and 10 paid holidays; and we offer medical packages and 401K.
To provide administrative support and clerical services to agency program directors and health office nursing staff and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Schedule: Exempt

• Regular hours entail 9:00am 5:00pm, Monday Friday
• Must be flexible to meet program needs
• On-call and weekends, as needed

Functions

• Assist with organizational and clerical duties
• Will execute special projects as assigned as it relates to infectious diseases, the required tracking, and the internal and external communication correspondences.
• Will act as the primary point of contact for evaluations of the symptomatic youth in our care.
• Takes all trainings as needed such as the NYS Contact Tracing Course
• Serve as back up to receptionist for agency including responding to 'assistance request phone calls' along with responding to door assistance in a positive and respectful manner
• Keep meeting minutes for department staff meeting
• Responsible for receiving pertinent test results from third party vendors
• Schedules sick visits and for youth in care
• Schedules symptomatic youth, as needed, for an initial medical exam (IME).
• Provide secretarial support and support the Health Office staff
• Participates in both intradepartmental and interdepartmental meetings as needed

Required Experience

• Working knowledge of Google Suite required
• Ability to travel to all agency locations
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with agency healthcare providers and nursing support staff
• Two years office experience required, medical office experience preferred
• Excellent communication and proven human relations skills
• Bi-lingual - English-Spanish required. All agency documents and records are in English, so English writing proficiency required. Position itself requires Spanish speaking, writing, and reading proficiency
• Excellent typing skills
• Ability to multitask within a fast paced medical office setting
• Knowledge of medical office environment, workflow, and terminology
• Strong knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
• NYS Registered Nurse licensure required
• Ability to work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children
