Medical Assistant-Float Jobs

There is a $500 sign on incentive upon hire.

This is a full-time float position, Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm. The float position provides coverage for Palatka, Interlachen, Hawthorne, Keystone Heights, Green Cove Springs, Hastings, St. Augustine, Palm Coast, Daytona, Crescent City, and Welaka.

The position requires a current valid medical assistant certification.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting nurses or providers with procedures and examinations as needed. Performs specific functions in conjunction with health assessment such as vital signs, weight, height, etc. This position reports to the Center Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Interview patients to obtain medical information
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians’ instructions to patients
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for provider.
• Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens and prepare them for testing
• Participate in the Health Disparities Collaborative by collecting data, educating patients and maintaining adequate documentation
