Job Description

Overview

Location: Southeast Michigan/ability to travel to the Ann Arbor office when needed

Full-Time

Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend availability

Remote with in-person assignments as needed

The Medical Assistant Manager leads Workit’s nationwide team of passionate and patient-centered medical assistants. The Manager will use best practices and benchmarks to ensure the MA team is meeting or exceeding quality standards and departmental goals for supporting the medical providers in delivering high-quality patient care. Necessary skills include a strong background in people management within a clinical setting, leading teams in a virtual environment, and exceptional professionalism. Experience in substance use disorder treatment and/or behavioral health care is a plus.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Updating and maintaining the MA handbook, and writing/revising job aids that comply with company policies and clinical guidelines.
  • Creating and promoting a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and engagement.
  • Ensuring team compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Leading team huddles and departmental meetings when needed
  • Hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance
  • Identifying areas for improvement and creating and contributing to process improvement projects.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the MA team, including but not limited to:
  • Managing staff work assignments, which includes activities such as laboratory work follow-up, prior authorizations, and medication refill management, and providing exceptional customer service to patients, colleagues, and vendors
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Defining short and long-term team goals that align with company objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Telemedicine experience is a plus
  • Ability to manage spreadsheets and presentations
  • Associate or higher degree in a related field
  • Dedication to the Harm Reduction model of care is required
  • Minimum of two years experience managing teams of five or more employees
  • RN/LPN, Medical Assistant, or Healthcare Administration background
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting organizational goals and developing process improvement plans
  • Comfort working with EHRs
