The Medicaid Operations Officer will play a key role in the Department’s mission to improve the Medicaid systems and services customer experience. The Department is modernizing it’s aging Medicaid Systems. The transition from legacy systems to modern applications has resulted changes to business processes, delays in service delivery and other issues that impact consumers. The position is responsible to ensure excellent customer experience for both internal and external Medicaid systems and services consumers. Work will involve managing customer experience deficiencies, identifying trends, coordinating resolution, communicating status to DPHHS leadership, program staff and external system users. This position will also be responsible to identify customer experience improvement opportunities, work with the DPHHS executive team to prioritize, coordinate system/process changes, and monitor and communicate outcomes. This position will work closely with the Medicaid Systems Division staff and report to the Medicaid and Health Services Executive Director.

What You Can Offer Us

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is preferred.
  • Two or more years of job-related work experience.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Ability to evaluate the work of vendors against contractual performance measures.
  • Skill as negotiator and communicator.
  • Knowledge and ability to effective apply federal/state statutes, administrative rules, and state policies and procedures relative to service delivery.
  • Skill and ability to build long-term internal and external relationships with customers critical to the organization.
  • Ability to manage varying deadlines and multiple tasks and respond positively to changes in direction, priorities, responsibilities, or assignments.
  • Meet minimum qualifications:
  • Initiative, sound judgment, efficiency, independence, and reliability in the completion of tasks, , and other major responsibilities.
