What We Offer
As a Mechanical Engineer at our Newark facility, this role is accountable to develop and implement an evergreen reliability strategy for their area of responsibility and align reliability targets with the business targets. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of maintenance and reliability as well as knowledge of concepts surrounding root cause analysis, defect elimination, and failure mode and effective analysis.
Major Responsibilities
  • Ensure the mechanical integrity and reliability of assigned assets
  • Support plant maintenance to ensure production output and maintenance cost targets are met and improved
  • Responsible for scope definition and accountable for technical acceptance of plant modifications, from the reliability perspective, which can include small to midsized projects
  • Provides input to a Risk Management Plan [PHA] that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations
  • Selects and manages contractor and vendor relationships
  • Adhering to Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets
  • Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel. Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions
  • Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, functional safety systems
  • Ensure that shutdown and turn around scope are aligned with the asset management strategy for the unit and engineering best practices
  • Maintain and safeguard the as-built plant documentation standards and drawings in assigned area
What You Offer
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate degree and 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience
OR
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and 2 years of Mechanical Engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six Sigma green belt training
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function as a team member
  • Knowledge of rotating and static equipment.
  • Effective analytical skills and structured working style
  • Ability to interact professionally with management in various departments
  • Demonstrate self-directed and non-authoritative leadership skills
  • Machinery Safety knowledge
