Job Description
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design and engineering team within the places business area. This position can be remote and performed anywhere in the United States. Arcadis office space is available for individuals who would like to work in an office environment.

Role description:
As a Mechanical Engineer you will lead the mechanical discipline of multiple concurrent projects through pursuit, proposal, design, and construction phases. You will be responsible for leading design efforts and serve as the engineer of record. As a mechanical engineer you will also support proposal and business development efforts.
Role accountabilities:
  • Perform various system studies (thermal comfort, indoor air quality, humidity control, energy management)
  • Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients’ team members.
  • Develop strong industry relationships with other design professionals.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as ASHRAE, ASME, IECC, ANSI, UFC, UBC as well as international standards such as IEC, CE, EN.
  • Fluency in design and modeling of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems using software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, Trane Trace).
  • Provide mentoring to junior staff
  • Support proposal efforts to win design work
  • Experience developing solutions to complex projects.
  • Work with designers to develop sealed drawings of your designs
  • Competent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Inter-discipline knowledge of facility systems.
  • Design for available capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, and safety, as well as constructability and cost.
  • Lead design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
  • Design experience producing IFC drawings for industrial facilities.
  • Education: BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • State-issued professional engineering license.
  • Consulting experience.
  • Minimum years of experience: 6+ varies with credentials.
  • Competent presentation and communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • LEED accredited professional.
  • Lean design and construction experience.
  • PMP certification.
  • Significant experience leading design teams.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. This position is eligible for participating in a company bonus program. The salary range for this position is $82,400 - $142,140.
