KTM Research is seeking applicants for a part-time/full-time intern position in Hubbard, Oregon.

KTM Research is a small automation services company that builds custom systems, tools, and machines. Our focus is on
machine vision, vision-guided robotics, and advanced technologies for manufacturing, production, and R&D. We serve a
range of industries, including consumer electronics, research laboratories, aerospace, semiconductor, and apparel. Our
clients range from small local companies, to research institutions and international corporations.
Position Overview
This intern position will work closely with KTM’s engineering staff to gain practical, hands on experience while supporting
KTM’s operations. This position may or may not have fixed/guaranteed working hours and work schedule is dependent on
KTM’s needs and the intern’s schedule, please contact us for more information about this particular opening. Learning
objectives for school course credit are negotiable and may be included within the scope of an internship at KTM’s
discretion.
Ideal candidates for this intern position are motivated self-starters who perform well working independently and in loosely
structured environments. The ability to use resources, such as Google to answer questions and problem- solve is
important, as is the ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply new knowledge and techniques.
In addition to working with KTM’s team, interns may be asked to interface with client and supplier teams to support KTM’s
projects. As a result, strong written and oral language skills are important for this position. A professional attitude and
appearance are required.
Duties will vary depending on current projects and internship learning objectives. The following are examples of tasks that
interns may be expected to perform:

• General cleaning and inventory management
• Fabricating/assembling using aluminum extrusion
• Generating documentation for simple electrical and mechanical systems
• Improving company and engineering processes to increase efficiency and reliability
• Documenting current processes and writing standardized work instructions
• Designing tools/systems using CAD software
• Building/wiring electrical panels, sensors, and other devices

KTM seeks someone who loves to learn on the go, takes ownership over their work, and can solve problems, always finding
a way forward. This position requires a process-oriented individual that can pitch in where needed and holds themselves
accountable for delivering on project timelines. This is a good opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on realworld problems with the tools and resources used in industry.
Compensation
Hourly pay range of $15-$20 per hour, depending on experience.
Position Requirements
Applicants must:

• Possess reliable transportation
• Proficiency with a parametric 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, etc.)
• Be at least 18 years old
• Be a college student OR possess a college degree OR have 3+ years of applicable experience
• Superior planning, time management, and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal communications including the ability to deal effectively with employees and customers
• Agree to sign a non-disclosure agreement
• Demonstrates sound judgment and decision making in ambiguous environments

Desired Traits and Experience
KTM is looking for applicants that have:

• A self-starter attitude and works well with minimal supervision
• Experience using Windows computers and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience designing parts, assemblies, and generating drawings using SolidWorks
• Experience with computer programming
• Experience with electronics projects such as Arduino microcontrollers
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of, and experience using basic hand tools
• A strong desire to learn and improve one’s abilities
