Responsibilities:- Cycle counts product.
- Maintains files and documentation in department.
- Verifies the contents of deliveries vs. packing slips.
- Transports restock bulk inventory continuously from receiving dock or warehouse to breakdown area; moves inventory to warehouse stock locations via pallet jack, or cart; separates inventory cases into units of issue and stages in appropriate receptacle or vehicle.
- Performs daily housekeeping duties, established by department policy.
- Transports materials and equipment from Materials Management to user departments throughout the entire hospital. Transports inventory using a cart to assigned areas.
- Use handheld device to enter pick orders for delivery to hospital par rooms and to place orders for all needed items on assigned floors.
- Unpacks skids and other warehouse deliveries.
- Utilizes handheld device to enter delivery transactions in delivery log; reports exceptions to Materials Management Coordinator and/or Central Distribution Manager.
- Maintains files and documentation in department.
- Moves 2-3 skids with a manual pallet jack.
- Delivers non-stock receipts from receiving dock staging area for designated route as assigne
- Assures packing slips are attached to items; delivers orders, obtains proper signatures, and notes exceptions and returns.
- Performs daily housekeeping duties, established by department policy.
- Transports dry ice to research lab locations and fill ice chests.
- Assists in unloading pallets by hand and stacking packages in the correct routes for delivery.
- Responds to emergency and rush deliveries as assigned and documents transaction.
- Assists receivers in unloading trucks; checking in packages by comparing packing slip with product; attach computer generated packing slips to packages; places packages in the correct routes for delivery.
- Combines routes and customer orders from staging areas of warehouse and Central Distribution
- Hand load rewrap or stack freight as necessary.
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED, required.
- Working in Fast-Paced environment
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers in a clear and polite manner.

- The Materials Transporter position covers the Central Distribution section of Materials Management 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 day per year. Overtime work is required.

Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling and reaching - constantly
- Pushing and pulling loads weighing up to 500 pounds - occasionally
- Finger dexterity in keying orders, updating Pyxis stations - frequently
- Carrying objects weighing up to 75 pounds - frequently
- Walking as much as 5 miles each shift - (every day) - constantly
- Lifting objects weighing up to 150 pounds - frequently
- Fast pace and physical - Walking up to 25,000 to 40,000 steps a day, lifting up to 50 - 75 pounds and push/pulling carts up to 50 -75 pounds.
- Talking, hearing and seeing - (all the time) - constantly
